While the exact percentage of how important mental skills are in comparison to physical skills is controversial, many experts say sports are over 50% mental. It is more important to recognize that athletes who spend little to no time developing mental toughness are dramatically limiting their chances for present and future success.
When an already naturally gifted, talented, and skilled athlete adds mental performance coaching to their training, they gain an advantage that many others lack.

Mental performance coaching (MPC) helps athletes address the barriers holding them back from achieving peak performance. MPC is about understanding how positive and negative thoughts and emotions impact performance. It is about using your mind to leverage your performance.
Mental training is NOT about avoiding uncomfortable feelings, it is about gaining tools to perform well when those feelings come up.
